SABMiller – one of the largest brewers in the world.

Kompania Piwowarska is part of one of the world's largest brewing groups - SABMiller plc. SABMiller plc is one of the world's largest brewers with brewing interests or distribution agreements in over 60 countries across six continents. The group's portfolio of over 150 brands includes world-renowned international names and established local brands recognized for their superior quality and brewing excellence (Miller Genuine Draft, Grolsch, Peroni Nastro Azzurro and Pilsner Urquell). The company is also one of the largest Coca Cola bottlers outside the US.

For the financial year terminated on 31st March 2011 SABMiller PLC had generated income of USD 28,3 bn with the gross profit of USD 5 bn. SABMiller PLC is quoted on the London and Johannesburg stock

SABMiller's operations

	North America In 2002 SABMiller purchased Miller Brewing Company, the second largest brewer in US. Lately a three-year plan of transforming Miller Brewing Company operations has been completed, building a platform for further growth.
	Latin America In 2001 SABMiller made preliminary investment in breweries in San Salvador and Honduras; in 2005 SABMiller became their owner. In the same year a merger with Grupo Empresarial Bavaria was completed, the second biggest beer producer in South America. This enabled SABMiller to extend its operations to Bolivia, Columbia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Panama and Peru.
	Europe SABMiller’s involvement on the European continent commenced in 1995 when the company purchased a Hungarian brewery Dreher. Right now SAB is one of the region’s leading beer producers with breweries in eight countries: the Canary Islands – part of Spain, in the Czech Republic, in Hungary, Italy, Poland, Romania, Russia and Slovakia.
	South Africa South African Breweries Ltd (SAB Ltd) is our original brewing company. Founded in 1895, SAB Ltd has since become one of South Africa’s leading companies as well as Africa’s largest brewer. The soft drinks division of SAB Ltd is South Africa’s largest manufacturer of products for The Coca-Cola Company.
	Africa and Asia In Africa, SABMiler’s primary brewing and beverage operations cover 31 countries. In 12 of these countries SABMiller has management control ( Angola – only soft drinks, Botswana, Ghana, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Swazi, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe ) while in the others SABMiller has a strategic alliance with Castel and a minority shareholding in Kenya and Zimbabwe. In Asia SABMiller has made considerable investment in operations in China and India; lately a decision has been made to enter the Vietnamese market. From its South African base, SABMiller grew quickly and over time created a unique portfolio of companies across six continents.
