Kompania Piwowarska: the chief partner of the European Economic Congress 2012
On 14-16 May, the city of Katowice will host a forum of one of the most representative discussions about the future of Europe. In attendance will be experts in politics, business and science. Kompania Piwowarska is the chief partner of this year’s edition of the European Economic Congress. Representatives of the leading Polish brewer will take part in debates on the most significant issues of Europe’s economic and social growth.

TYSKIE KLASYCZNE: an alternative variant of TYSKIE, is making a market debut
Kompania Piwowarska, leader of the beer industry in Poland, is launching an alternative variant of its biggest brand: Tyskie. Tyskie Klasyczne was created in response to consumers’ needs who increasingly often look for new genuine flavours. The recipe of Tyskie Klasyczne is based on the Reinheitsgebot (German Beer Purity Law) introduced in 16th century. Tyskie Klasyczne is brewed exclusively from 100% barley malt, hops and water. The classic edition’s market debut will be supported with a trade and an advertising campaign.

One garbage truck for three breweries and reincarnation of fluorescent lamps: Kompania Piwowarska is celebrating the international “No Garbage Day”
11 May 2012 will mark the sixth edition of the “No Garbage Day” project whose goal is to propagate environmentally friendly attitudes and promote waste segregation. Kompania Piwowarska is part of the project, organizing an environmental contest for its employees and a recycling information campaign.

Third place in the Ranking of Responsible Companies and the Golden Leaf award of POLITYKA - Kompania Piwowarska reaps laurels for its CSR activities.
This is the sixth time that Kompania Piwowarska has been awarded in the prestigious ranking of Responsible Companies, as it won a high third place. Just one day before the company was awarded the Golden Leaf prize by POLITYKA weekly magazine as one of twelve companies for whom corporate social responsibility as a key element of business strategy.

Kompania Piwowarska saves water not only on World Water Day
On 22 March we are going to celebrate the World Water Day again, and its motif this year is the relationship between water and food production. It takes as much as 15,000 l of water to produce one kilogram of beef, one kilogram of rice requires 2,500 l of water and 75 l of water is needed to manufacture one bottle of beer. Therefore one of KP’s sustainable development priorities is to produce more beer while using less water.

Tanks – beer taste straight from the brewery
Tyskie, the biggest Polish beer brand belonging to the beer market leader – Kompania Piwowarska – is just launching an innovative on-trade solution: fresh beer served directly from large tanks. This solution will be available first in 21 outlets in the south of Poland in Kraków, Wrocław, Częstochowa and Opole. Over time, the taste of fresh beer “straight from the brewery” – so well known to and valued by Czech and Dutch beer lovers – will be made available in a larger number of establishments.

The European Union supports social initiatives launched by brewers
The European Commission has assumed a supranational commitment to execute social and educational projects submitted by representatives of 3,500 brewers from the Old Continent. The commitment is in line with the EU strategy and is an original initiative of the beer industry. The initiators included Browary Polskie (Polish Breweries) of which Kompania Piwowarska is a member.

As one of 14 companies, Kompania Piwowarska has signed the Diversity Charter, a document promoted by the European Commission. Minister Agnieszka Kozłowska–Rajewicz, the government’s proxy in charge of Equal Opportunity at Work and prof. Irena Lipowicz, the Ombudswoman, have become Honorary Patrons of the Diversity Charter.

Kompania Piwowarska has been recognised in the Well Received Company contest. The Super Brands CSR prize is awarded by the Business Centre Club while the entire project is conducted as part of the EU Human Capital Operational Programme. The winners received their statues at a gala held on 9 March 2012 at the Lubomirski Palace in Warsaw.
