For What It’s Worth!
The social initiative “For What It’s Worth” was launched for the benefit of individuals in need who live outside the society or who are in danger of social exclusion. The programme revolves around a call for proposals where public benefit organizations submit projects of supporting people in danger of social exclusion because of poverty. The indirect goal of the initiative is creating a civic society in Poland by including local communities.
All applications which comply with the formal requirements are evaluated by members of the Expert Team and the Programme Council. They consist of illustrious representatives of scientific circles and non-governmental organizations, including Prof. Jolanta Szaban, Janina Ochojska from the Polish Humanitarian Action, Piotr Pawłowski from the Association of Friends of Integration, Paweł Łukasiak from the Academy of Charity Development in Poland as well as representatives of local authorities.
Within three editions of the programme, 29 winning projects were selected for which Pln 4.5 million has been earmarked. All projects launched as part of “For What It’s Worth” programme have been audited by KPMG. Various assistance activities have directly or indirectly affected approximately 11 thousand people, including the homeless as well as children and adolescents from marginalized and dysfunctional families. The programme has laid the foundations of partnership cooperation between KP and Polish non-government organizations.

"Driver - Sober"
"Driver - Sober" is a project aimed at convincing pub goers that they should not drink and drive, educating on safe ways of returning home; it is also a token of appreciation to the drivers who do not drink. The project is devised by Kompania Piwowarska in cooperation with the Polish Brewers Association and the Beer Brethren association. As part of this initiative, animators dressed in special yellow uniforms will visit pubs and ask the customers: is there a driver there who does not drink? If anyone applies, he/she will be given a sticker saying “driver”, information materials and a 10% discount on a taxi ride. The project also offers an opportunity to wear special spectacles which show how alcohol impairs the ability to drive.
